JB Build & Fix Ltd was founded by Janis Bunkovskis — a craftsman who learned his trade in Sweden, where precision isn't optional and quality is simply the minimum standard.

After years working across Sweden and mainland Europe on projects ranging from residential developments to large commercial timber structures, Janis brought that same standard to the UK.

Based in Dorset, we serve homeowners across Dorchester, Weymouth, Yeovil, Bournemouth and Poole. You'll always deal directly with Janis — honest communication, fair pricing, jobs done properly.

A career built on practical craftsmanship, project leadership, and over 25 years of construction experience across Latvia, Sweden, Norway and Europe.

1998
Construction & Private House Building — Latvia
Started career in residential construction, working on private house building, timber structures, roofing, and interior carpentry. Developed strong hands-on skills across all aspects of building works.
2010
Project Manager / Estimator — Latvia & European Projects
Managed residential and commercial construction projects. Responsible for cost estimation, planning, subcontractor coordination, and quality control across multiple European locations.
2014
Project Site Manager — Sweden & Norway
Led on-site construction operations for large residential and commercial developments. Managed teams, schedules, materials, and ensured compliance with Scandinavian building standards.
2022
Construction Supervisor / Senior Carpenter — Sweden
Worked as senior hands-on carpenter and site supervisor. Delivered high-quality structural carpentry, renovations, and finishing works while overseeing project execution and client requirements.
